Do I need trimming, leveling, or a lift?
Whether you need trimming, a leveling kit, or a lift depends on your wheel and tire setup and the fitment you are going for. Use our guided fitment tool or reach out to our sales team and we will help you figure out exactly what your build needs.
Whether or not you need trimming, a leveling kit, or a lift kit depends on the wheels, tires, and fitment you are going for. Here is a breakdown of each option to help you understand what may be needed for your specific setup.
Trimming
Trimming is the process of removing small amounts of plastic or metal from your fender wells to create more clearance for larger or wider wheels and tires. It is a common modification for builds running aggressive fitment or oversized tires.
If you choose an Aggressive Fit option through our guided fitment tool, some trimming may be required to get everything to fit properly without rubbing. If you choose an Easy Fit option, trimming should not be necessary.
Leveling Kits
A leveling kit raises the front of your truck to match the height of the rear, giving your vehicle a more even, level stance. Leveling kits are a great option if you want to run slightly larger tires without going through a full lift kit installation. They are generally more affordable and easier to install than a full lift kit.
Lift Kits
A lift kit raises the entire vehicle, giving you more ground clearance and room for larger tires. Lift kits are ideal for builds that want maximum clearance for aggressive off-road use or larger tire sizes. There are several types of lift kits available depending on your goals and budget:
- Leveling kits: A simple and affordable way to level out your stance and gain a small amount of clearance
- Suspension lift kits: Raise the entire vehicle for maximum clearance and off-road capability
- Body lift kits: Raise the body of the vehicle without changing the suspension, creating more room for larger tires
