What does it mean when an item is on backorder?

A backorder means the manufacturer is temporarily out of stock, but we work directly with them to secure incoming inventory and can help you switch to an in-stock item if needed.

A backorder simply means the manufacturer is temporarily out of stock on an item. They don’t currently have enough inventory to fill all orders, but more product is either already in production or scheduled to arrive soon.

Over the years, we’ve built strong, direct relationships with our manufacturers. This allows us to secure positions in line for incoming inventory and reserve backordered items whenever possible. In many cases, these products are backordered nationwide - not just with us - and we work directly with the manufacturer to secure the next available shipment for our customers.

Most backorders typically take about 4–6 weeks, but timing can vary. Factors like production schedules, shipping timelines, and overall demand can sometimes extend the wait.

If the wait doesn’t work for you, we’re here to help. We can check availability and assist you in switching to an in-stock item. Simply reach out through our Contact Us page (select the topic “Backorders”) and include your invoice number along with a link to the product you’d like to switch to. Our team will take it from there and make the process as smooth as possible.

We understand waiting isn’t always ideal, and we’ll always do our best to provide clear updates and options along the way.
