What is the difference between an all-season and summer tire?

All-season tires work well in hot and cold conditions, while summer tires offer maximum grip in warm weather but lose flexibility in the cold.

All-season tires are designed to perform well in a variety of conditions, including cold weather. Their special compounds and tread patterns stay flexible in low temperatures while still offering good handling and response on warm pavement.

Summer tires, on the other hand, are made for warmer weather and are closer to a three-season option than a true summer-only tire. They usually have shallower treads and compounds that provide maximum grip on hot pavement, but these compounds lose flexibility in cold weather and can wear faster than all-season tires.

Choosing the right tire depends on your climate and how you plan to use your vehicle.
