What is the difference between AT, MT, and RT tires?

AT, MT, and RT tires differ in tread design and performance, with AT for mixed use, MT for aggressive off-road, and RT as a balanced option.

When shopping for new tires, you will usually choose between All Terrain (AT), Mud Terrain (MT), and Rugged Terrain (RT) tires.

All Terrain (AT) tires are a great choice for vehicles that see some off-roading but also get regular street use. They balance performance on trails with a smooth ride on pavement.

Mud Terrain (MT) tires have a more aggressive tread to move through mud and rough terrain. They provide excellent traction off-road but are heavier and can create more road noise.

Rugged Terrain (RT) tires blend the features of AT and MT tires. They are slightly more aggressive than AT tires but are quieter and lighter than MT tires, offering a balanced option for mixed use.

Choosing the right tire depends on your driving style and how much off-road use you expect.
