What should I do if my delivery is late?
If your delivery is running late, start by checking your tracking information for any updates or alerts from the carrier. If your estimated delivery window has passed and tracking has stopped updating, contact us with your order number and our team will work with the carrier to investigate and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
We know how exciting it is to get your new wheels, tires, and accessories, and we understand how frustrating it can be when a delivery does not arrive when expected. Here is what to do if your delivery appears to be running late.
First, check your tracking information
Before reaching out, the first step is to check your most up to date tracking information. Here is what to look for:
- Log in to your Track Page using the email address you used at checkout to find your tracking numbers
- Click through to the carrier's tracking page for the most up to date status on your shipment
- Look for any alerts, exceptions, or notes from the carrier that may explain the delay, such as weather related delays, missed delivery attempts, or held packages awaiting pickup
- Keep in mind that tracking information can sometimes take a few hours to update after a scan, so a brief gap in updates does not always mean something is wrong
Check if your delivery timeframe has passed
Estimated delivery timeframes are just that, estimates and not guarantees. Here is a reminder of our standard delivery timeframes once an order has shipped:
- Wheels only: 4 to 7 business days
- Tires only: 3 to 7 business days
- Wheel and tire packages: 14 to 21 business days
If your order is still within these timeframes, it is likely still on its way and should arrive soon. If your order has passed these timeframes with no delivery or tracking updates, it is time to take action.
Common reasons for delivery delays
There are several common reasons a delivery may be running later than expected. Here is what could be causing the delay:
- Weather or natural events: Severe weather, natural disasters, or other events outside of the carrier's control can cause significant delays across entire shipping networks
- High shipping volume: During peak seasons or busy periods, carriers can experience higher than normal shipping volumes that cause delays across the board
- Incorrect or incomplete address: If your shipping address was entered incorrectly or is missing information such as an apartment number or business name, the carrier may have difficulty completing the delivery
- Missed delivery attempt: For freight shipments that require a signature, a missed delivery attempt can push your delivery date back. Check your tracking for any missed attempt notifications and follow the carrier's instructions to reschedule
- Customs delays for international orders: International shipments can be held at customs for additional processing, which can add unexpected time to your delivery
What to do if your tracking has not updated in several days
If your tracking information has not updated in several days and your estimated delivery window has passed, here is what to do:
- Contact the carrier directly using your tracking number to request an update on the status of your shipment
- Ask the carrier to initiate a trace on the package, which starts an investigation into the whereabouts of your shipment
- Reach out to us with your order number and a description of the situation and our team will work with you and the carrier to investigate and resolve the issue as quickly as possible
What if my package appears to be lost?
If your tracking has stopped updating entirely and the carrier is unable to locate your package, it may be considered lost in transit. Here is what to know:
- Contact us right away with your order number and our team will work directly with the carrier to file a claim and investigate the situation on your behalf
- If you added Shipping Protection to your order, our team can expedite the replacement or reimbursement process
- Without Shipping Protection, our team will still work with you and the carrier to file a claim, though the standard claims process may take longer to resolve
- If the carrier confirms the package is lost and will not be recovered, we will work to get a replacement shipped out to you as quickly as possible
Tips to avoid delivery delays on future orders
Here are a few steps you can take to help ensure smooth deliveries on future orders:
- Double check that your shipping address is accurate and complete before placing your order, including your apartment or suite number and your business name if shipping to a business
- Make sure someone is available to sign for freight deliveries like wheel and tire packages to avoid missed delivery attempts
- Adding Shipping Protection to your order provides the fastest path to a resolution if something goes wrong during transit
- Track your order regularly after it ships so you can catch any potential issues early
If your delivery is running late or you have concerns about your shipment, contact us with your order number and our team will be happy to help investigate and get things moving in the right direction!
