Why do my wheels look different in person than they did online?

We want you to love your new wheels, so we understand how surprising it can be if they look a little different in person than you expected. Please note that product images shown on our website are for illustration purposes only and may not be an exact representation of the product. Here are some common reasons why wheels may look slightly different once they arrive.

Screen and lighting differences

Every computer monitor, phone screen, and tablet displays colors and finishes slightly differently. The brightness, contrast, and color settings on your screen can make a wheel finish look lighter, darker, or more vibrant than it appears in person. The lighting conditions in product photos can also make a finish look different compared to how it looks in natural or garage lighting.

Photography and editing

Product photos are often taken in controlled studio lighting to best showcase the design and finish of a wheel. This type of lighting can make certain finishes like chrome, gloss black, or machined accents look more dramatic or reflective than they may appear in everyday lighting conditions.

Finish variations

Some wheel finishes, like brushed, machined, or satin finishes, can look different depending on the angle and light source. What looks like a bright silver in a product photo may appear more muted or subtle in person, and vice versa.

Size and proportion

Wheels can sometimes look larger or smaller in product photos depending on the angle they are shot from. Once installed on your vehicle, the overall proportion and stance may look different than the isolated product image suggested.

Directional designs

If your wheels have a directional or asymmetrical spoke design, keep in mind that two wheels will flow in one direction and the other two will flow in the opposite direction. This is completely normal and intentional, and is how the wheels are designed to look once all four are installed on the vehicle.
