Why is there a mark or blemish on the backside of my wheel?
Minor backside blemishes are cosmetic only. All wheels undergo rigorous structural testing and carry a full manufacturer warranty.
When purchasing aftermarket wheels, it’s helpful to know what’s considered normal within the industry. Across most wheel manufacturers, minor markings, blemishes, or small cosmetic imperfections on the backside of a wheel are considered acceptable. These are very common in the aftermarket world and do not impact performance in any way.
In nearly all cases, these minor backside blemishes are not visible once the wheel is mounted and installed on your vehicle. They’re purely cosmetic and typically cannot be seen by the unaided eye during normal use.
What matters most is performance and structural integrity - and that’s where manufacturers hold extremely high standards.
All wheels go through rigorous testing to ensure safety, durability, and long-term reliability. Many of the brands we carry meet both Japan Light Alloy Wheel Standard (JWL) and Vehicle Inspection Association (VIA) certification standards. Some manufacturers even develop internal testing standards that exceed industry requirements.
These tests may include:
-
Rotary bending fatigue tests to evaluate hub durability
-
Impact tests to measure overall wheel strength
-
Cornering fatigue tests to confirm structural integrity after a tire is mounted
Every wheel is thoroughly tested, inspected, and approved by the manufacturer before it ships. Even if a minor backside blemish is present, the wheel still meets all structural and safety standards and maintains full manufacturer warranty coverage.
Our goal is to be transparent while ensuring you feel confident in both the quality and performance of your wheels.
